 For many people the impact of coronavirus (COVID 19) may be financial. The Council will therefore be providing as much assistance as possible in relation to your welfare rights, and money/debt advice via telephone and by email.  To speak to an advisors, please call 0300 123 0900 and ask for the Information and Advice Hub; alternatively you can email us at informationandadvicehub@south-ayrshire.gov.uk.

Telecare services are still available from Monday 8.45am to 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am to 4pm should be contacted on 01292 880929. Outwith these hours, please contact 0300 123 0900. Currently, the service is only dealing with emergency installations to support hospital discharge and urgency community palliative care.

* Child Protection : If you have any concerns about the care or wellbeing of a child or young person you can call the Initial Response Team on 01292  267675.  Should you have a concern about a child or young person out with normal office hours, The Ayrshire Wide Social Work Out of Hours Response Service, who are available in the evening or at weekends, can be contacted on 0800 328 7758.

* Domestic Abuse : Support is available. Scotland's Domestic Abuse and Forced Marriage 24hr Helpline number is 0800 027 1234. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger do not hesitate to call 999. If you can't speak dial 999 and then 55

South Ayrshire Women's Aid is still providing support during this time and can be contacted on 01292 266482 or support@sawamail.org.uk. For further information, please visit their website.

Abused Men in Scotland (AMIS) is a registered Scottish charity that supports men who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. Lockdown is an especially difficult situation for anyone in an abusive relationship.

* National Helpline for High Risk Patients

This service is in addition to localised support already available for people who have received letters advising them to shield themselves. However, any of those in the shielding category who are not yet receiving assistance, who do not have family and cannot get online can also access support via this new helpline.

The helpline - 0800 111 4000 - will initially operate during core working hours of 9am to 5pm, while plans are developed and implemented to extend it to operate for a longer period each day. Callers will be automatically connected.
